If youβre here for the first time, welcome! Iβm Jana Bek, an interior designer with an emerging lifestyle line of home dΓ©cor, textiles, & lighting. I have a love for bright colors, bold prints, and designing spaces & home dΓ©cor that help transport you to your dream destination.
You can catch up on my the planning and progress for my One Room Challenge:
Iβm way behind.
I had high hopes for this past week, reupholster our dining chairs, get our killer new artwork framed, plan out and order dΓ©cor, to name a few tasks left on my list. But almost immediately upon my return to Atlanta, I was on a flight back to Michigan. My husbandβs mother has been in pain for a long time and now Lorettaβs dancing with her husband & Jesus in heaven. Needless to say it really puts everything in perspective.
Let me share with you some gorgeous artwork & dΓ©cor that I did have a chance to see before left.
If you follow me on social media , you know Iβm a huge fan of Gray Malin. We have his 'Skinny Dip' & 'Bondi Beach' in our Ann Arbor home:
And Iβm geeked to add this oversized St. Tropez piece to our living area. Iβm DIYing an acrylic frame for it & I'll be sharing the tutorial on Grayβs blog so stay tuned!
Highland hardware is my go-to for gorgeous stand-offs and they have kits if DIYs arenβt your jam.
I found the artist Hayley Mitchell on Instagram last fall and have been patiently waiting for the perfect time to partner with her. Hayley painted a custom piece for our bedroom and itβs simply stunning:
Iβm layering in pops of black throughout the apartment to help create tension with all of the bright colors. This palm piece from Artfully Walls is too good to be true for three reasons. It meets my beachy-glam vibe, itβs black, AND matted & framed it covers the electrical box on the wall adjacent to our bed (good ol apartment living)! With the help of Command hanging stickers an eyesore is new eye candy!
Speaking of black beauties, I went with Jill Sorensonβs deco bedding and I cannot wait for it to arrive!
I've always wanted sconces for a bedroom & I fell in love with these Newport sconces from
Lamps Plus. Their timeless style will juxtapose the mid century modern nightstands beautifully!
